Grapes, Anyone?

Luscious, delicious, tasty and nutritious…even the ancients enjoyed grapes. Eating fruit for centuries was a luxury reserved for the wealthy and in many ways, it still is. How fortunate we are in California to have constant access to the highest quality produce to nourish our bodies and tantalize our senses. When living in a time of plenty, fruits and veggies are entirely proper. Fabrics are dyed to look as they look. Speaking of health, that’s what Daniel’s designs are for the environment. Check out his up-cycled creations and consider all the ways we as humans may be responsible stewards.

A piece of fabric may inspire a maker, and that is exactly what happened with this robe to which Daniel added toggles. Comfortable, up-cycled bliss on the body. Every piece he makes feels good on, and I say truth to the fact that what you put on your body transforms your mood and mental state. Choose carefully.

Crème Brûlée

Sometimes, a treat in the day is required. A delicious dessert may suit your fancy. Or perhaps new clothes are your favorite treats. A dinner out, a new piece of equipment for your hobby of choice, so many ways to treat yourself. Indulge. A certain song over the speakers, perhaps? Kicking butt in a virtual game may be another. What are your pick-me-ups?

Ren Beach Walk

Ask me to walk with you a mile, and I will go 1000. Share with me the secrets of your heart and I will cherish them forever. Implore me to fight on your behalf and till death I will. How many in this world are loyal and true? Seek , but you shall find few. Many bend with the waves of time, caving to pressure and standing for nothing at all save self preservation. Respect and admiration are challenged to find people for application. A wellspring I see near, my home I shall make here.

Three Musketeers

We do not anything alone.

Something magical about a stroll on the beach with the lull of ocean waves roaring as a reminder what puny space we occupy in this world. Do we command the waters? No. Can they overtake us? Yes. By right of man we enjoy domain and yet what power and control have we truly?

Larissa’s brother:

The Pinup Pursuit is Complete

Larissa Rose

This woman not only made the dresses featured in this series, but she is a real wielder of swordplay. Larissa is an amazing cook, carer of a pack of dogs which includes two pit bulls, beautiful dancer, and key player in a family business. Did I mention what she never will, which is that she also happens to be a singer/musician and captivating subject for the camera?

I met Larissa dancing at the Firehouse. We often exchanged compliments over each others ensembles. One fashionista spies another in a crowd. Larissa has this genuine light of life in her that feels good to be near. The first time I met her brother the same broad smile and eyes lit with that light of life were unmistakable, the relation immediately apparent. Warm people full of raw love are rare. Real passion for life and its tasks flow as a wellspring.  What treasures flow to be graced with their energy.

Pretty in Pink

Sometimes Daniel takes the linens he finds and custom dyes them. This process at times yields surprises in how the fibers take to color. The top part of this garment is made of crochet and the bottom is lace. They each took differently to the dye, but I like the way it blends with the top. I’m no Molly Ringwald, but I would wear this beautiful pink mermaid hem all night long, or perhaps all day…at the beach.
