“I keep going to the river to pray, cause I need something that can wash all the pain…” We blues dance to those lyrics of “Ghost” by Ella Henderson.
Our buddy, Trevor, scouted out this waterfall on private property in Grass Valley as a rad shoot location. The day he adorned me with body paint, we were rushed and the sun set by the time we migrated from the train car to the waterfall. Then, Shane slipped on mossy bridge and snapped the flash off the camera. We were left to shoot past dusk with no light. The water, by the way, was freezing cold as ice or the Pacific ocean. Our posse that day understood if I chose to abandon the shoot. I thought I’d step in a bit, then challenged myself to go deeper and deeper, then to finally actually sit in the fall. Many of these images will not be published as the low light made a formidable challenge for the camera to focus. Not to mention the fact that I am more fully exposed and not sure if that needs to be public. So here is what you can see.
